Tulane and Loyola are teaming up for the third annual World Cleanup Day litter sweep. The sweep will start from Loyola’s Broadway campus on Greenville Hall Lawn at 7214 St. Charles Ave at Pine St.

Guest Speaker Events: USAID Whistleblower
USAID Whistleblower: Nicholas Enrich is a former civil servant who worked at USAID under four administrations. He served as the Bureau of Global Health’s director of policy, programs, and planning until January 2025, when he was designated as USAID’s acting assistant administrator for global health. On March 2, 2025, he was placed on administrative leave for exposing the Trump administration’s illegitimate and dangerous dismantling of USAID.
He will join us to discuss his book, Into the Wood Chipper: A Whistleblower’s Account of How the Trump Administration Shredded USAID, and there are two opportunities to see him:

Yates Lecture: Dr. Debra Houry (MD/MPH ‘98)
The Murphy Institute presents Dr. Debra Houry (MD/MPH ‘98) in the 2026 Mary C. Parker Yates Lecture. She will present “Leading with Integrity through Chaos: My time at the CDC.”
Dr. Houry is the former chief medical officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She is a renowned leader in public health, emergency medicine, and scientific integrity. During her tenure at the CDC, she served as a primary architect of national clinical and public health strategies, leading critical responses to the opioid epidemic and advocating for data-driven injury prevention. She now brings her expertise to the Yale School of Public Health and the California Public Health Network Innovation Exchange (PHNIX), where she remains a vital voice in the advancement of public health policy and the protection of scientific integrity within national health agencies.

The Tulane Center for Clinical Research (TCCR) is happy to invite you to register and attend the Annual LA CaTS Level III Coordinator Training.
This training is scheduled for Friday, September 25th, 2026 [8 AM-4 PM CDT] and will be offered in person and via Zoom. The in-person training will be held at the Tulane Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine building (1440 Canal Street, Diboll Auditorium, 1st floor, room 106, New Orleans, LA 70112).
This training is a full-day, focused series of interactive sessions that provides a deep dive into ICH and FDA regulations and helps prepare attendees to become certified in clinical research roles. Participants will engage with certified clinical research professionals and discuss critical regulatory guidelines.

Deliver Us Documentary Screening
Join Tulane’s Maternal and Child Health Collective for a free screening of Deliver Us, the award-winning documentary by Jenny Kwandham & Randi Matthews. Learn how Black midwives challenge one of the most complex health care systems in the world, demanding justice for Black mothers by creating solutions for the Black maternal crisis. The screening will take place at the Woldenberg Art Center, in the Freeman Auditorium, on Sunday, September 27th from 3-5 PM. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A with the director!
